My Soliloquy
Dim pages of an old diary,
Memories lodged in the dungeons of time;
Silly thoughts of yesterday lay wandering,
As I depart from this suburb of mine.
And as I walk this lonesome highway
Watching the headlights speed me by,
Remembering one song I heard lately...
...Music still ringing in my mind;
Thinking of a friend I lost,
Or the girl I dated the week before.
Filthy charges still sing me nasty rhymes,
Smoke and regrets feed a bleeding soul.
The hallowed pyre of desire in me yet flares,
My soliloquy...in all that I confide.
The hour's plight so undaunted,
My destination much unknown;
Many a league of weary miles trudged,
My head so heavy...yet unbowed.
Memories lodged in the dungeons of time;
Silly thoughts of yesterday lay wandering,
As I depart from this suburb of mine.
And as I walk this lonesome highway
Watching the headlights speed me by,
Remembering one song I heard lately...
...Music still ringing in my mind;
Thinking of a friend I lost,
Or the girl I dated the week before.
Filthy charges still sing me nasty rhymes,
Smoke and regrets feed a bleeding soul.
The hallowed pyre of desire in me yet flares,
My soliloquy...in all that I confide.
The hour's plight so undaunted,
My destination much unknown;
Many a league of weary miles trudged,
My head so heavy...yet unbowed.
