A NIGHT'S TALE

The door sneaks open...
Only to pour the tainted tidings of the day:
Time has deceived yet another friend,
Eclipsed by the greys overhead.
Broke and weighed down by Reason's freight,
But the Night's Mistress is yet to have her say.

The curtain falls, the stakes are drawn;
All quiet on the frontiers of the 'Unknown'.
And stealthily it passes the Horrors of Shade
Judged by the fathom of a menacing gaze.
And I sure do have a reason to lament -
"The mellowing bliss is come to end".
And, here we stand chained....
....to Tomorrow's waiting hands,
Not much to loathe, yet enough for regret.
